SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) ? A Southern California woman has been sentenced to life in prison without parole in the shooting death of her millionaire live-in boyfriend.
Nanette Ann Packard was sentenced Friday in Orange County Superior Court for the 1994 murder of William Francis McLaughlin.
Prosecutors said Packard was at the center of a love triangle and convinced her other lover, former NFL linebacker Eric Naposki, to kill McLaughlin.
Prosecutors said Packard had a $1 million life insurance policy on McLaughlin and also stood to receive $150,000 if he died.
McLaughlin was shot nine times in the torso with a 9 mm handgun.
Naposki was convicted of first-degree murder last July.
